Resetting two-factor authentication
Updated over a week ago

To log in with two-factor authentication (2FA), you need a code created by the authenticator app on your phone. Does the app on your phone no longer work, do you have a new phone and no longer have access to your old phone, or can't generate the code for some other reason? Then use one of the following ways to reset two-step authentication.

Login with a backup code

When activating 2FA for your account, backup codes were generated. One of these codes you can use to go through the two-step authentication step. Instead of the six-digit code, you enter one of the backup codes. Please note that this code works only once and will not be usable after that.

Next, click on your avatar at the top right and click on my account. Under "two-factor authentication", click disable and confirm this change. Two-factor authentication is now disabled. Use the steps in this article to re-enable two-step authentication.

Don't have a backup code?

If you don't have backup codes (anymore), then two-factor authentication needs to be disabled by one of the admins. The admin goes to Team in the menu and clicks on the name of the employee for whom 2FA needs to be disabled. In the drop-down menu under Edit, choose Reset two-factor authentication.

Two-factor authentication is now disabled for this employee. The employee can log in without an additional authentication step and then reset two-factor authentication.

No backup code and you are the only admin?

If you are the only admin of your account and can no longer access your account using the options above, please contact us. We can't just disable two-step authentication for you, but we will then work together to determine how you can regain access to your account.
