Two-step authentication (often also called two-factor authentication or 2FA) is a method that requires you to go through two verification steps to gain access. For online services, using your username and password in combination with a temporary code is very popular. This method is also used at Rework. In a separate app on your cell phone, a temporary code (six digits) is generated that you must enter when logging in.

This combination of logging in with your username, password and the temporary code provides extra strong security when logging in.

Setting up two-factor authentication at Rework

Every user at Rework has the choice to use two-factor authentication. In addition, admins can make it mandatory for all users within the company account. If a user then logs into an account where two-factor authentication is not set, Rework will prompt to set up 2FA before the user can proceed.

Follow the steps below to set up two-factor authentication:

  • Click on your avatar in the top right corner and go to My Account;

  • Under Two-factor authentication, click Enable now;

  • Using your two-step authentication application, scan the QR code or enter the code manually;

  • Enter the six-digit code your 2FA app generates at Rework and click Set two-step authentication;

  • Save the backup codes and keep them in a safe place;

Done! Two-factor authentication is now enabled for your account.
